About Us

Hi there!

We love seeing everyone in their apparel, so give us something to smile about and upload and use #EvidenceBasedBirth on social media!

Evidence Based Birth® Mission:
To get research evidence on childbirth into the hands of mothers and families, inspiring them to make more informed decisions about their care.

Evidence Based Birth, LLC was founded in 2012 by Rebecca Dekker, PhD, RN, and quickly gained a large following of readers and supporters. You can read more about the Evidence Based Birth story here.

Rebecca is a mother of three, wife, blogger, and full-time assistant professor of nursing at a research university. She and her husband, Dan, devote their spare time to making Evidence Based Birth the place to get non-biased info about childbirth options. We pride ourselves on making research evidence accessible and understandable for families all over the world.

There are substantial costs involved with hosting and running such a popular website. Our vision is to make Evidence Based Birth a self-sustaining small family business so that we can continue to impact maternity care worldwide by providing high-quality, evidence-based information for free.

We painstakingly designed and vetted the products that are available at our online store. Our clothing is hand printed at a small printing press in our hometown of Lexington, Kentucky, and our prints are hand letter-pressed by an artisan in Columbus, Ohio.

We absolutely love our products (we wear our t-shirts ALL the time and hang the prints up in our own home!), and we wouldn't be selling them if we weren't 110% confident in their quality!!

Not only do your purchases at the official Evidence Based Birth online store help us keep the lights on, but you will also get an amazing product that you can use to spread the word about Evidence Based Birth. We've learned firsthand that our t-shirts are awesome conversation starters!

Thank you so much for your support of our mission!

With much love,

Rebecca and Dan Dekker
